After allowing the Jackets to hit 66.7 percent of their first half field goals, the Pioneers only held a marginal lead at the half, 57-55.
After intermission, the Pioneers stepped up their defense to hold their opponents to a mere 33 points compared to the Pioneers 53 additional offensive points. With a, 110-88, victory, the Pioneers are currently the conference's second leading scoring team (behind the #1 nationally ranked West Liberty University).
While the Pioneer starters each hit double-digits for 81 of those points, Jordan McCloud came off the bench for a career-high 16 points!
Lamar Mallory led the way with a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds). Mallory is currently ranked #2 in the MEC in both categories.
Rounding out the Pioneers' big scorers were Kevin Gray (20, six-of-11 from three-point land); Lamont Cole (17); Donte Morales (16); and Reggie Williams (15, game high five assists).
While the men and women are on the road this week with games at UC and Urbana, they will welcome Wheeling Jesuit to Glenville on Saturday, Jan. 11; the ladies tip off at 2:00 p.m. with the men to follow.
