Dave Wilson, 91, of Glenville, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Weston.
He was born on July 27, 1922 in Gilmer County, a son of the late Lon and Ora Wilson, was fondly known around the area as "Santa Claus," at nursing homes, schools, hospitals. He always knew you when he saw you. He had many hobbies, some were frog gigging, hunting, making lamps, and windmills. He worked 27 years at Republic Steel in Massillon, OH, where he retired. He was Christian by faith.
He is survived by one brother, Bobby Wilson and wife, Louise; one sister, Bertha McCune; two sons, Clark E. Wilson and wife, Janice Smarr-Wilson of Sand Fork; Bradford Wilson of Fremont, OH; one granddaughter, Mandy Paul and husband, Scott of Fremont, OH; and grandson, Robert E. Wilson (Bobby) and wife, Beverly Wilson, a very special friend, Gladys Champion; three great grandchildren, Aiden Paul, Matt Wadsworth and Brandi Wadsworth.
He is preceded in death in addition to his parents, by wives, Lakie Wilson and Lula Wilson; daughter, Carolyn Wilson; brother , Earl Wilson; sister, Luella McCune and daughter-in-law, Teresa Wilson. He will be missed by many people.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 6, 2014, 1:00 p.m., at the Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville, WV. Burial followed in the Meadow Lane Cemetery. Friends called at the funeral home Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
