Roy Denzil Murphy, 77, died Sunday, October 19, 2013 in Waxhaw, NC; with sister, Annabelle, Neice, Jennifer, and caregiver at his side.
Born February 26, 1936 in Gilmer County, WV; son of the late William Raymond and Sylvia Marie Snyder Murphy. Denzil was a graduate of Sand Fork High School, Class of 1955. He loved sports, especially WVU Football and NASCAR. In 1990, he was retired from Timken Co., Canton, OH., as a steel worker with 34 years and 4 months service.
Denzil is survived by four sisters, Edna Walton and husband, Glenn of Bridgeport; Annabelle Kramlick of Waxhaw, NC; Lois Cain and husband, Richard of Catonsville, MD; and Marie Slavinsky of Crosby, TX. Also surviving are four nieces and four nephews.

Funeral Services were conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV. 26351 at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 Merlon Howell officiated. Burial followed in the Meadow Lane Cemetery, Route 5 West of Glenville. Friends called from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Mortuary.
