Albert Wilbur Maxwell, age 82, of Glenville, departed this life at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2013 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, following a brief illness.

Born January 12, 1931 in Roane County, son of the late Albert Woofter and Eva Spence Maxwell.

Albert was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #132. He was also a heavy equipment mechanic , his mechanics took him from New Road at Morgantown Hospital to Interstate 79 and the Burnsville Dam. In his free time he loved helping his son work on old cars.

On March 11, 1956 he was united in marriage to Betty Jo Duelley Maxwell, who preceded him in death on January 5, 2011.

He is survived by one son, Danny Maxwell and wife, Teresa of Glenville; two grandsons, Jeffery Maxwell and wife, Shawna of Letter Gap; and Erik Maxwell of Glenville; one great granddaughter, Alexis Maxwell of Letter Gap; two sisters, Louella Stalnaker and Mary Ann "Peg" Radabaugh both of Glenville; and two brothers, Willis ÒJackÓ Maxwell of Glenville; and Fred Leon Maxwell of Mentor, OH.

Along with his wife and parents, Albert was preceded in death by one great grandson, Tyler Maxwell, and one sister, Janis Martin.
Funeral Services were conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV., 26351 at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2013 Rev. Kenny Fisher officiated. Burial followed in the JobÕs Temple Cemetery with Full Military Honors, Route 5 West, Glenville, West Virginia. Friends called from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the Mortuary.

Ellyson Mortuary Inc. assisted the family of Albert Wilbur Maxwell with arrangements.
