A Grand Opening is now being planned for the new Minnie Hamilton Health System’s (MHHS) Glenville Clinic at the WACO Center at 921 Mineral Road on Mon., Aug. 4.
As a result, MHHS’s Glenville Office will be closed for the moving on the following dates: Clinic Services (Pediatric and Adult), Aug. 1-2, 2014; Radiology, July 21-Aug.2; and Laboratory, Aug. 1-2, according to a news release from MHHS.
The move is a joint effort between MHHS and GSC and its GSC Foundation to bring improved and expanded healthcare services to Gilmer County.
In a news release, the MHHS Public Relations office’s staff stated, “We are excited to announce that the new location provides more space to include our Physical Therapy Dept. and more exam rooms to improve patient flow.”
In a previous statement, MHHS’s Administrator Steve Whited affirmed to this newspaper that the college was adapting the medical center wing at the WACO building to its exact specifications, and he was pleased about that and the new location’s potential to impact area healthcare positively.
Effective Aug. 4, the clinic will have one phone number for all services: 304-462-7322.
The hours of operation will be as follows:
• Clinic — Mon.-Fri., 8 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sat., 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.;
• Pediatric — Mon. 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Tues.-Fri., 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.;
• Laboratory — Mon.-Fri., 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sat., 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; and
• Radiology — Mon., Fri., 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
MHHS officials could not be reached for further comment on this Tues., July 1 (press deadline day).
Nevertheless, as previously reported, this change could be the first step to provide 24/7 medical care here.
