3 Poplar Church Homecoming

Will be held on Sun., Sept. 2 beginning at 10 a.m. There will be a covered dish lunch at noon. Special singer Tyler Moore and Pastor Ronzel Roberts will be giving the service.

Gilmer PSD MEeting

The Gilmer County PSD will be having their monthly meeting at 232 W. Main St. on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 6pm. The public is invited to attend.

Knights of Pythias Picnic

The Harmony Lodge #68 Knights of Pythias picnic will be August 18, 2018 at 1pm at the lodge hall. The Lodge will provide the hot dogs, hamburgers, plates, cups, and utensils. Open to all members and family members. Bring a covered dish and enjoy the fellowship!


Senior commodities disbursement will be Thurs., Aug. 16, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be NO regular commodities this month.

Little Kanawha Independent Church

The Little Kanawha Independent Church will have their Annual Church Homecoming on August 12, 2018. Sunday School will start at ten. There will be a covered dish dinner at noon in the fellowship hall beside the church. Bring your favorite dish and join us. After lunch we will go back to the church for Special Singing by the Brighterside Quartet. We invite everyone to come and join us in rejoicing in praise and song. Pastor: Ronzel Roberts.

Food Pantry at NHCC

The Food Pantry at NHCC (Normantown Historical Community Center will be open August 10, 2018 from 1:00 noon to 2:00 pm. We will be servicing Pantry and Senior box clients. Bring your own containers. The 39th Annual Smith Reunion

Family and Friends of the late Thomas Jefferson and Alice May Phillips Smith will meet on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at the Recreation Building at Cedar Creek State Park beginning at 11:00 a.m. Come join the fun! Bring a covered dish and your memories. We will be having a Chinese basket auction and taking donations to raise money for future reunions. The 76th Annual Conrad and Jane (Rutherford) Kuhl Reunion will be held Sun., Aug. 19, 2018 at the Gilmer County Recreation Center. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. with a covered dish dinner being served at 12:30 p.m. Bring your favorite dish and a friend and enjoy an afternoon of fellowship with friends and relatives.
