Senior commodities disbursement will be Thurs., Apr. 19, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be NO regular commodities this month.

More Music in Normantown!!

There will be two Music Jamborees this month at the Normantown Historical Community Center. On Apr. 14, the Glenville State College Bluegrass Band will perform and on the 28th the Carol Edwards Band will take the stage. Both are great groups, bring the family and come out and enjoy an evening listening to music! Music starts at 6:30, concessions open at 5:30. Low admission fee for adults and teens, children under 12 are free.

GC DEMOCRATIC PARTY MEET YOUR CANDIDATE

Will be at the GC Senior Center on Sun., Apr. 22, 2018 at 1 p.m., meal will be served. Democratic Women’s members are asked to bring a dessert. All Democratic Candidates & Non-partisan BOE are invited to speak. Come out for a few hours of good food and political conversation.

SPAGHETTI DINNER

Is on Sun., Apr. 29, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Gilmer County Recreation Center. Proceeds go toward purchasing new uniforms for Gilmer County High School Track Team.

CEDARVILLE COMMUNITY ASSOC. MEETING

Meeting will be on Fri., Apr. 13, 2018 at 6 p.m. at the firehouse.

Folk Festival Day at the Library

On Sat., Apr. 28, the Gilmer Public Library will be hosting a Folk Festival Day 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This one-day event will offer a taste of what’s to come in June! There will be live music, vendors and much more!

Gilmer co. Food Handler’s Class

The Gilmer County Health Department will be holding a Food Handlers Class on Fri. Apr. 20th at 4:30 p.m. in the Conference room of the Health Department. Anyone needing a Food handlers Card will need to take this class. We are no longer doing the open book test. If you have any questions please call the Health Department at 304-462-7351

THE FARM BUREAU GOOD WILL DINNER

The Farm Bureau Good Will Dinner is planned for Sat., Apr. 21, 2018 at the Fire Hall in Glenville, WV beginning at 6 p.m. Bring your favorite dessert or salad and join us. Kindermusik” returns to the Gilmer Public Library

Parents as Teachers presents “Kindermusik” at the Gilmer Public Library on Apr. 24, 1 p.m. Kindermusik mixes singing, musical instruments, reading, and movement into fun for you and your kids! For more information text Kelley, PAT educator at 304-377-5845

BENEFIT DINNER

There will be a Benefit Dinner for Roger “Pete” Greenlief at the Rosedale Senior Center in Rosedale, on Sun., Apr. 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. “Pete is currently on a Heart Transplant List through Ruby Memorial Hospital. He is suffering from and being treated for terminal Heart Disease. Donations at the door will be greatly appreciated.

LK ABW MINISTRIES SPRING RALLY

The LK ABW Ministries Annual Spring Rally will be held on Thurs., April 19, 2018 at Glenville First Baptist Church. All ladies are invited to attend. Registration begins at 6:15 pm . Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Revival

Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Stumptown, will be having revival Sun., April 15 - 18, 2018, at 7:00 pm. with guest speaker, Robey Godfey, Pastor at Long Run Baptist Church. Robey has family ties in Gilmer and Calhoun counties. There will be special singing each evening. Everyone welcome.

GRACE FELLOWSHIP CHURCH REVIVAL

There will be a revival on Apr. 12-15, 2018 at Grace Fellowship Church, 2336 Indian Fork Rd., Orlando. Pastors Mike Riffle, Larry Fisher, Bob Hoover, and Rod Heckert. At 7 p.m. each night. there will be music. Everyone welcome.

CENTRAL WV RIDING CLUB ANNUAL SHOOTING MATCH

The Central WV Riding Club will be holding their annual shooting match on Sat., Apr. 14, 2018 at Holly Gray Park in Sutton. The Match will begin at 10:00 a.m. Registration will be at the barn. There will be 5 Hams, 5 Turkeys and 10 Money Round for 12 and 16 gauge (no fixed guns) and a .22 money shoot at the end of the match. Call 364-5576 or 364-2273 for more information.

FLOWER SWAP AND GARDEN TOUR AND CLASSES

Flower Swap on Sat., May 19, 2018 at Braxton County, Little Birch Elementary School. Also Garden Tour and Classes will follow the Flower Swap at 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The tour will be in the Garden Center at Lowes 5200 Webster Rd., Summersville, WV 26651. MELVIN WINE MEMORIAL CONCERT

We have the concert date on the Landmark Studio Calendar for April 21, 2018 at 5 p.m. doors open at 4 p.m. It was very successful last year and I hope everyone still wants to do this again in the Spring. Please mark your calendars and get the word out. There will be a square dance after the concert at the Sutton Community building. It is hosted by Augusta’s heritage dance trail program and they will promote both events in their brochure.

THE LEWIS COUNTY SENIOR CENTER

Is planning a trip to Lancaster, PA, May 14-16, 2018. Rates are per person for double occupancy and includes motorcoach transportation, 2 nights lodging, 4 meals, admission to the Jesus Show at the Sight & Sound theatre, visit to Rockvale Square Outlets, Gettysburg National Park and admission to the “Songs of the Silver Screen” Show at the American Music Theatre. ANNUAL DODDRIDGE CO CEOS HEALTH FAIR

Will be held on Sat., Apr. 28, 2018 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Doddridge County Park. Most blood analysis tests require 12 hours fasting. Please bring stamped, addressed envelope for mailing the blood analysis results to you and/or your doctor. A food handlers permit training will be held at the event. Appointments are not required.
