Matthew Dane Fox, 35, formerly of Barberton, OH, died on Friday, April 22, 2016. Born in Glenville, to Don and Penny Fox, Matt was a loving brother and son. He took special joy in being an uncle and spending time with his many nieces and nephews.
Matt graduated from Barberton High School and was part of the marching band and a member of the track and swimming teams. He later attended the University of Akron. He enjoyed gardening, playing his guitar, and collecting and listening to vinyl records. He was an enthusiastic bargain hunter who loved finding a great deal. A man of strong opinions, Matt never backed away from a good debate. His favorite thing was being with his family.
Matt was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and by his father, Don. He is survived by mother, Penny Fox, and siblings: Amy (Mike) Sir Louis, Sara (Richard) Blankenship, Alayna (David) Miller, Aaron Fox (Lyssa), Adam Fox (Chandra) and Nathan Fox (Marlie), as well as nieces and nephews: Jamison, Noah, Mary Grace, Ben, Elijah, Donovan, Cora, Isabella, Abraham, Audrey, Ruby, Violet, Scarlett, Braylon, Clover, and Nahla.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Copley, OH, on Saturday, April 30, 2016, followed by a memorial service. Matthew will be laid to rest next to his father in the family’s hometown of Glenville, on Sunday, May 1, following a short service at 2 p.m. to be held at Glenville Community Church.
