Lula Belle Godfrey, age 64, of Dusk Camp Run Road near Sand Fork, departed this life suddenly on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in Glenville, while playing with her grandchildren at the Sue Morris Sports Complex. Born December 10, 1952 in Gilmer County, Lula Belle is the daughter of the late Hoy S. and Audrey Grace Rogers Keith.
Lula Belle was a graduate of Gilmer County High School, class of 1970. She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, living the quiet life in Gilmer County, spending time with family and friends, spoiling her grandchildren whenever possible, and attending local sporting events. In her later years, Lula was a librarian at the Sand Fork Elementary School, and a teaching aid at the new Gilmer County Elementary School. She also attended church at the Church of God of Prophecy in Sand Fork.
Funeral Services were conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 2:00 PM; Sunday, August 27, 2017. Pastor Bryan Groves officiated. Burial followed in the Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery on Dusk Camp Run Road. Friends were received from 5-8 PM; Saturday evening at the mortuary.
