Boneva V. Spurgeon, age 95, of Burnt House, WV, went home to be with her lord, Friday, July 22, 2016 at her residence. She was born on Sinking Creek, Gilmer County, WV, on August 28, 1920 the daughter of the late Raymond C. and Nina Spiers Ellyson
Boneva was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife. She was a member of the Burnt House United Methodist Church and a graduate of the former Troy High School.
Boneva is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Spurgeon, Burnt House, WV; one son, Kevin Spurgeon, Burnt House, WV; one brother, Leon Ellyson (Penny), Cox’s Mills, WV; one sister-in-law, Boneva “Bea” Ellyson, Glenville, WV and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Spurgeon, on December 13, 1994, and an infant daughter, Sharon Virginia Spurgeon, one brother, Ralph Ellyson.
Funeral services were held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, WV, with the Rev. Matt McCauley officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrisville I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends called at the funeral home on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 3:30 until 8:00 PM.
