God came to our house June 13, 2016 and took Ronald Glen Kuhl, age 74, home to be with Jesus.
He was born December 30, 1941 at Letter Gap, WV to the late Glen and Maxine Harris Kuhl.
He was married in 1963 to Karen Wyatt Kuhl, who survives. He is survived by a son, Timothy (Lorie) Kuhl, in NC; a daughter, Patti, in KY; a granddaughter, Chante, in Texas; and a grandson, Deacon, in NC.
Also surviving are sisters, Janice (Earl) Miller of Normantown; and Betty (Chuck) McCumbers of Glenville; a brother, Lanny (Roberta) Kuhl of Weston; brothers-in-law, Nelson Wyatt of Reno, OH; David “Stretch” (Levi) Wyatt of Beckley; a sister-in-law, Nancy (Gary) Mehay of Grafton, OH.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Glen and Maxine Kuhl; his son, SFC Ronnie L. Kuhl; brother-in-law, Duane Reed; sisters-in-law, Tammy Wyatt, Donna Wyatt, and Merry Wyatt Cormack.
He attended Bird Grade School and Normantown High School.
He began working in 1960 as a masker in the paint department at Ford Motor Company in Lorain, OH. He worked for 4-D (Flying W), Mobil Service Station, Log Cabin Exxon, was self-employed as an auto body repair and paint specialist, and restored old cars in Glenville. He retired from Dowell-Schlumberger in Glenville, where he was a mechanic.
At the time of his death, he was a member and Sunday School teacher at Hardman Fork Baptist Church. He had been an ordained deacon at Grafton Baptist Church in Ohio.
He enjoyed - hunting deer, bear, coon, squirrel, rabbit, and turkey; fruit and vegetable gardening; mowing and weed-eating; gold prospecting in CA, GA, AZ, and AK; buying and selling stocks; watching Tony Stewart and Mark Martin in NASCAR; watching basketball, football, baseball, girls’ softball, bowling, golf, little league, and game shows; and loved playing with his grandchildren.
His favorite teams – Cincinnati Reds, Dallas Cowboys, Duke Blue Devils, WV Mountaineers, Dwyane Wade of Miami Heat, Stephen Curry of Golden State Warriors.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Hardman Fork Baptist Church, Grass Run Road, off Route 33 at Letter Gap, at 2 p.m. with viewing at 1 p.m. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2016 at Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg, WV on Route 33.
