Micki Marie Rose, 63, of Troy, traveled to meet her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 24, 2019, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

She was born in Chester Hill, OH, on January 29, 1956, a daughter of the late Donald Leroy and Syble Hamm Funk. Also greeting Micki in Heaven was one daughter, Susan Helmick, and one brother, Rex Funk.

June 10, 1974, Micki said, “I do.” to her high school sweetheart, Lonnie Rose. He remains the love of her life and he will dearly miss her until their reunion in Heaven.

Those treasuring their memories of Micki are her husband, Lonnie Rose, son, Tim Rose, and wife, Leigh Ann, of Kincheloe; five grandchildren: Lee, Destiny, Mason, Levi, and Lonnie Dee Helmick; one great grandchild, Jaxson Cottrell; four grandchildren-of-the-heart: Hailey and Taryn Wilson as well as Samuel and Hannah Rose; three sisters: Violet Henline and husband, Tom, of Orlando, Kathy Helmick and husband, Vernon, of Jane Lew and Donna Rose, of Camden, several nieces and nephews including, Christina Rose, of Glenville; beloved Golden Retriever, Sadie; and life-long best friend, Betty Brooks, of Weston.

Micki was a 1974 graduate of Lewis County High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Glenville State College. She retired from Lewis County Board of Education, but being idle didn't suit her. She returned to teaching for LCBOE and remained with them until her passing.

She was very active in her community and volunteered for many community service projects. Micki was a member of her local TOPS Club for which she won the title of WV Queen and she enjoyed singing. She was an amazing cook who was famous for her green beans and chicken and dumplings.

Micki was a devout Christian and a member of Rock Grove Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and her devotion extended to those in her community. Her grandchildren hung the moon. She was their biggest fan and never missed an event or an opportunity to show her love for them. Her value was far above rubies, for she was truly a Proverbs 31 Woman. Her lamp will not go out by night for her Christian values and teachings remain with her family.

Family and friends gathered at Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service located at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2019.
