Harry E. “Jack” Parsons age 83 of Normantown, departed this life on the evening of Friday, September 13, 2019 at his residence, with his loving family by his side.

He was born August 13, 1936 in Gilmer County, son of the late Delbert and Geneva Harris Parsons.

Jack worked for American Window Cleaning Co. in Washington, D.C., for many years. After returning to West Virginia in the early 1980s, Jack worked for Waco Oil and Gas as a Drill Rig Operator and later retired in 2009 from EQT Corp. In his spare time, Jack enjoyed hunting rabbits and working extensively with his beloved Rabbit dogs, working in his vegetable garden, and spending time with his family and friends.

On February 29, 1959, Jack was united in marriage to Geraldine Marks Parsons, who survives at their Normantown home.

Surviving are six children, Kennetta Sampsel and husband Paul, of Wooster, OH, Harry E. Parsons Jr. and wife, Debbie, of Dundee, FL, Delbert “Jim” Parsons and wife, Sherry, of Dunkirk, MD, Rodney Parsons, of Manassas, VA, Kevin Parsons, of Normantown, and David Parsons and wife, Kelly, of Westminster, MD, two brothers, Jessie Parsons, of Parkersburg, and Steven “Bub” Parsons and wife, Regina, of Glenville, and seven sisters, Madeline Duskey, of Tanner, Kay Peters and husband, John, of Normantown, Greta Peters and husband, Paul, of Normantown, Wanda Accord, of Beckley, Cora Kimes, of New Haven, OH, Trish Kniceley, of Arnoldsburg, and Hallie Minney, of Sand Fork.

Also surviving are a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other special family and friends.

Along with his parents, Jack is preceded in death by four siblings, Lenora Miller, Pearl Parsons, Eddie Parsons, and Chester Parsons.
