Daniel Allen Parker, age 42, of Upper Horn Creek Road, Gilmer County, departed this life suddenly on the evening of Monday, July 8, 2019 at his residence following a sudden illness.

He was born September 10, 1976 in Wood County, son of Cheryl Parker, of Dankirk, IN.

Daniel enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing video games, listening to music, and loved cooking. He also loved playing with his beloved dog, Dark Angel.

On August 17, 2008, Daniel was united in marriage to Karen E. Freeland Parker, who survives at their Horn Creek home.

Surviving are five siblings, David Shaffer, of New Milton, Alice Shaffer, of Gassaway, Norma Shaffer Keen, of Parkersburg, and Patricia Coe Keeton, of Toledo, OH.

Also surviving is Daniel's grandfather, Okey Shaffer, of New Milton, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

Daniel is preceded in death by two siblings, Okie Shaffer Jr., and Irleen McKenzie, his grandmother, Patricia Parker, and Steven Shaffer.

Daniel's request for cremation has been honored and the family will have a celebration of life in honor of Daniel at a later date.

Ellyson Mortuary, Inc is assisting the family of Daniel Allen Parker with arrangements.
