Joy Valejean Boggs Postalwait, age 88, Rosedale, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at the Clay Health Care Center following an extended illness.

She was born, May 5, 1931 in Perkins, daughter of the late Forest E. and Gale Turner Boggs.

Joy was a homemaker who loved caring for her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed studying the Bible, quilting, gardening, and was an amazing cook. Joy was a Baptist by faith and member of the Rosedale Baptist Church for the last 50 years.

Surviving is her daughter, Dreama Rose and husband, Clarence, of Rosedale, two grandchildren, Joy Machele Rose, of Rosedale, and Eric Rose, of Ruffin, NC, and two great-grandchildren, Kody and Dylan Rose, of South Charleston.

Also surviving are two siblings, John Boggs and wife, Sharon, of Perkins, and Janis Knall, of Kent, OH, special nephew, Mark Smith, of Elyria, OH, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

Along with her parents, Joy is preceded in death by five siblings, Helen Melton and husband, George, Harold Boggs and wife, Nellie, Betty Lou Stiltner, Barbara Dages, and Bryce Lee Boggs.

A funeral service was conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV, 26351 at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019. Burial followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Normantown. Friends were received from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Saturday afternoon at the mortuary in Glenville.
