After two and a half months, the summer came to an end for the Glenville State Pioneer Football team last Friday, August 3, as they hit the field for their first practice of the season.
For second year Head Coach Eric Smith, it was a busy week.
On Wednesday, he had helped the athletes get settled in to their dorms.
Then, on Thursday, he traveled to Bridgeport for the Mountain East Conference Football Media Day.
Friday, finally, provided him the opportunity to hit the field with his team.
The Pioneer squad is, once again, young. Of the approximately 120 athletes who arrived for camp, more than 80 are freshman.
