Keeping Track of the Generations
Sister Caren (Allen) White and husband, Dana, each year, usually during our WV squirrel season, host the Ira and Myrtle Minney family reunion. These were Ira and Myrtle's great grandchildren who attended the 2013 reunion.
Andrea Putnam, Annetta Richards, Jonathan White and Marina Stewart are Mom, Ena Minney and Ira and Myrtle Minney's oldest daughter's grandchildren. Aaron Hunt is Aunt Cressie (Minney) Hunt's grandson. Andrea and Johnathan are sister Caren's children. Annetta is brother Harold's daughter, Marina is my daughter and Aaron is cousin Vernon Hunt's son. Vernon and Aaron live in PA.
Our 7" of snow have finally disappeared except for some big clumps the snow plow left along the road. We did not have any snow for Christmas. The big snow went just above us, according to the weatherman. I feel bad for all those who did their Christmas travels in the snow and bad weather. My family usually comes home for Thanksgiving but only the ones who live close by usually come for Christmas. This year we all got together for soup, snacks and a gift exchange on Dec. 23. That way everyone could spend Christmas at home.
I have been having lots of fun getting my mail. I got lots of birthday cards, and although I have cut down on my Christmas card list, it was fun hearing from so many of my readers. I decided to send out at least a few cards. I think Christmas sneaked up on most of us this year.
Son Tim has been sick this week and has been under the care of a doctor. Tim said he was sick during Christmas break last year and he has been house-bound most of the week. Tim is really sick when he gives up and is housebound. I told him he should have got a flu shot. I read in the newspaper that Brent Boggs' wife had pneumonia and spent some time in the Braxton Co. Memorial Hospital. I hope everyone gets better soon.
Last week was mid-semester graduation week. Granddaughter Rachel Adams received her Master's Degree from Marshall University. Son Tim and family spent a night in Hurricane and attended her graduation. Brother Harold and family attended the graduation of Jessica Allen, Harold's former son Jeffery's daughter. Jessica was the Valedictorian at Concord College.
Congratulations Rachel and Jessica.
This week I rode the Senior Van and did some shopping in Glenville. I learned that granddaughter Jenny (Marks) Harper's name had been drawn in the Senior Center's Annual Christmas Sweepstakes. Jenny got some really nice prizes.
Son Steven's family is doing better. Great granddaughter Brianna is much improved and will soon be released from the UVH cystic fibrosis unit. Steve's wife, Kathy, is home after going on a sight seeing tour of NY City with some friends. Kathy's son John's twins are much better and Cooper will soon have his tonsils and adenoids removed.
