The Little Kanawha River Parkway Commission, a regional nonprofit promoting roadway improvements on SR 5, hasn’t been visible for some time, but the members made up for that at their most recent meeting last week.
Chaired by Mrs. Reta Kight of Glenville, she called upon each one of the included counties to report on their recommendations for upgrading SR 5, improving public access to the river, and encouraging economic development of this overall region. “We need to set our priorities and to contact our legislators about them,” she explains.
Commission members from Braxton, Calhoun, Wirt, Wood, and Gilmer were present for the Mon. evening, July 23 quarterly meeting in Burnsville.
